This diverse city offers world-class art exhibits, distinct restaurants, stylish shopping, lively entertainment districts, and of course, professional sports. For a taste of artistic culture, try the Nasher Sculpture Center, the most extensive African art collection in the U.S at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Crow Collection of Asian Art, the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University for Spanish art, or Fair Park for Art Deco architecture. Dallas can also be fun for the whole family. There’s Six Flags Over Texas for thrill rides, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor for water park fun, Speedzone Dallas for both real and simulation racing, and Ripley’s Believe it or Not, which can spark anyone’s imagination. And you’re sure to do a lot of double-takes at Louis Toussaud’s Palace of Wax, which among many celebrities also has over 41 presidential likenesses from Washington to George W. Bush. If you’re looking for animals, look no further than the Dallas World Aquarium and the Dallas Zoo, and plant enthusiasts will love the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Shoppers can then catch a ride on the McKinney Avenue Trolley past exclusive shops and restaurants. For nightlife, try the offbeat bars, many which host live music, often blues, on Deep Ellum, cutting edge cuisine on Greenville Avenue, the shopping and trendy nightclubs on Knox-Henderson, the upscale West Village, or the historic West End. Finally, it’s no secret that Dallas takes its sports seriously, as home to the Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Stars, the Texas Rangers, the Texas Motor Speedway, the Cottonbowl, rodeos, and the five-time Super Bowl champions, the one-and-only Dallas Cowboys. As one of the largest states in the Union, Texas, the Lone Star state, is big on tourism and huge on fun. Two thirds of the over 20 million folks who call Texas home live in its major metropolitan cities, like Houston, Dallas, and Austin. Aside from the typical things most big cities have to offer, like great food and exciting nightlife, folks in Houston can also sign up for space camp.
